Skyhigh Data Centers (POPs)
Skyhigh Security Cloud uses two types of data center facilities, referred to as a Point of Presence (POP) and a Super POP:
- POP. Hosts the forward and reverse proxy.
- Super POP. Hosts the following functions:
- Cloud Security Manager dashboard
- Shadow IT Analytics engine
- Threat Protection Analytics engine
- Houses primary (live) data stores
Skyhigh Security Super POPs are located in:
- Oregon, US
- Frankfurt, Germany
Skyhigh Security POPs are located in:
- Northern California, US
- Northern Virginia, US
- FedRAMP, GovCloud
- Dublin, Ireland

- Stockholm, Sweden

- Sydney, Australia

Each Skyhigh Security Cloud POP contains multiple load-balanced Skyhigh Security Cloud for Salesforce Proxies, and any end user is resolved to the closest POP based on the GeoDNS service. In case of the failure of an entire POP, all traffic is routed to the closest alternate POP using DNS failover. If necessary, we can roll out additional POPs in the same location to provide redundancy or additional processing.
When the user creates and saves the policies in Skyhigh CASB, POPs retrieve the policy configuration and poll the changes in the data centers. The configuration changes are applied based on the updated policies.
