Clone a Role

When creating a new role, you can clone an existing role to create a new role with the same settings. You can modify the assigned permissions as needed before saving the role.

NOTES:  

  • You can clone only one role at a time.
  • When you clone a role, only the permissions assigned to the role are copied; the previously assigned users are not copied. You must assign users to the cloned role. Before saving, you can edit the permissions if needed.

To clone a role: 

  1. Go to Settings > User Management > Users and Roles.
  2. Click the Roles tab.
  3. Select a checkbox corresponding to the role you want to clone.

  1. Click the Actions menu.
  2. Select Clone Role from the menu.

  3. On the Clone Role dialog, click Got it.

  4. On the Clone as New Role page, enter the following:
    • Role Name. Enter the role name.
    • Description. Enter the role description.
    • Select Users. Click to select users for the cloned role.

  5. On the Select Users panel, click Save.
  6. On the Clone as New Role page, click Save.

The cloned role appears on the Roles tab.
