How to Work with Feature Configurations
There are several ways to work with feature configurations.
-
Work with an existing feature configuration — You can work with an existing feature configuration, which is either a default configuration or a configuration that you have modified or created as a completely new configuration.
-
Default feature configuration — You can only view a default feature configuration, but not modify its settings. But you can copy (clone) and rename a default configuration and then modify the settings of this configuration.
-
Other feature configuration — You can view a feature configuration that is not a default configuration and immediately modify its settings. You can also clone and rename it and then modify the settings of this configuration.
-
-
Create a new feature configuration — You can create a completely new feature configuration. The settings of a default feature configuration serve as a starting point for configuring the settings of this new configuration.
-
Assign a feature configuration to the criteria in a rule or to a rule set — You can assign a feature configuration to the criteria in a rule or to a rule set if the criteria or the rule set requires a feature configuration.
-
Assign a feature configuration to the criteria in a rule — You can assign a feature configuration to the criteria in an existing rule that you have created using the Rule Builder or in a new rule that you create with this tool.
In an existing rule, a feature configuration is already assigned to all the criteria that require a feature configuration. You can modify what is assigned by selecting different feature configurations. -
Assign a feature configuration to a rule set — You can assign a feature configuration to an existing rule set or to a new rule set that you create. The feature configuration is then assigned to all the criteria in the rules of this rule set that it applies to.
