Enable Dashboard Notifications for Fallback Policies

When SWG executes default policies in certain conditions, admins can enable a global notification to get an alert in such scenarios. Additionally, the reporting dashboard UI provides data on how frequently default policies are triggered.

View Default Policy Request

View the default policy request in the web traffic overview to get data on processes, traffic, or rules that were processed using the default policy in the web gateway. You can view the traffic request in the table present in the web traffic overview, and you can also view it on Dashboard.

To enable the default policy request:

  • Go to Analytics > Web > Web Traffic.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and click Default policy request.
  • Enable the Yes checkbox.

Set up Global Notification

To create the alert for the required save view, you need to set up global notification.

When you set up global notification alerts, the admin will receive an email notification indicating how many times the default policy is triggered. For every 24 hours an email will be sent to the admin.

Follow these steps to configure the global notification alert:

  • Go to Settings > Global Notification Settings.
  • Under Cloud Governance, click Add New Notification.
  • Select a required save view from the list (card1- IN request created in save view).

Default Policy Dashboard

Here is the dashboard to understand how many times the default policy was triggered.

  • Go to Dashboard.
  • Scroll down to the required or added dashboard.

You will see the details on how many times a default policy was executed in SWG out of the actual policy configured by the user.
