Timeouts for Malware Scanning

When a user requests access to a web object, for example, to download a file, this object is scanned on Secure Web Gateway for malware infections. The scanning process follows what you have configured for the anti-malware filtering rules of your web policy.

Timeouts are implemented, which depend on the size of the file or other web object that is scanned. You cannot configure them. The following is implemented for these timeouts.

• The scanning process times out after 5 minutes if the size of the scanned object is 1 MB or less.

• The scanning process times out after 60 minutes if the size of the scanned object is more than 1 MB.
