About Configuring Common Rules
Common rules are used on Secure Web Gateway to support rules that ensure web security in other rule sets.
For example, the anti-malware rules ensure that users cannot download virus-infected files from the web. To find out about infections, a file that a user attempts to download is scanned, which increases download time. The common rules include rules for showing the progress made with a download to this user.
To configure common rules, default rule sets and Feature Configurations are available as shown in the table below.
