SafeSearch

SafeSearch is a search engine feature that filters the search results and blocks explicit content. You can configure its use as part of your web policy, choosing a moderate or strict mode.

When SafeSearch is enabled, the SafeSearch Enforcer communicates this setting to the search engine. When a search engine does not support the moderate mode, the strict mode is communicated to this engine.

  1. On the user interface for Secure Web Gateway, select Policy > Web Policy > Policy.
  2. From the policy tree, select Common Rules > SafeSearch.
  3. Optionally configure criteria to limit the scope of this rule set.
  4. Select one of the following:
    • Disabled — Disables the SafeSearch feature
    • Enabled in strict mode — Enables the SafeSearch feature in strict mode
    • Enabled in moderate mode — Enables the SafeSearch feature in moderate mode

Changes to the policy tree, rule sets, or rules are automatically saved. You can publish them to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
