Redirect Traffic to an Alternate Proxy Server
You can redirect traffic to an alternate Proxy Server in the following ways:
- Redirect application traffic to alternate proxy
- Redirect traffic sent from configured processes to alternate proxy
- Redirect traffic sent to configured domains to alternate proxy
- Redirect traffic sent to configured IP addresses to alternate proxy
if the connection to the alternative proxy that you have configured fails, the traffic is redirected to the primary proxy.
Redirect application traffic to alternate proxy
You can redirect traffic to an alternate proxy server for applications configured in the Action Protection and Activity Control rule sets of the web policy.
- In Skyhigh CASB, click the Settings icon.
- Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
- In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
- Select a policy from the policy tree.
- Click the List Redirection tab.
You can view options in this tab only after selecting an alternate server from the Alternate Server drop-down list. - Select Send traffic from these processes to the alternate proxy server to open Process to send to alternate proxy.
- Select the Redirect for all applications in the Tenant Restriction rule sets checkbox to redirect traffic for applications specified in the tenant restriction rule sets.
- Click Tenant Restriction rule sets to view the applications listed in the tenant restriction rule sets.
- Click OK.
- Select the Redirect for all applications in the Activity Control rule sets checkbox to redirect traffic to alternate server for applications specified in the activity control rule sets.
- Click Activity Control rule sets to view the applications listed in the activity control rule sets.
- Click OK.
- To redirect traffic for applications configured in the web policy, select a list from the Available Lists drop-down list in the Lists from Web Policy List Catalog.
- Click Add List to add the web policy list. The traffic to domains or IP addresses listed in the list are redirected to the selected alternate proxy server.
- Click Save.
You can publish saved changes to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
Redirect traffic sent from configured processes to alternate proxy
You can add, edit, remove, and view the list of processes in the redirection list. The Client Proxy software redirects traffic from configured processes to alternate proxy server. A process list is a list of processes that run on the endpoints. Windows process names must end with .exe and macOS process names don't require a file name extension. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the list of processes.
- In Skyhigh CASB, click the Settings icon.
- Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
- In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
- Select a policy from the policy tree.
- Click the List Redirection tab.
- Select Send traffic from these processes to the alternate proxy server to open Process to send to alternate proxy.
- From the Add Process drop-down list, select Add Inline.
- Process — Enter the process name. Windows process names must end with .exe. macOS process names don't require a file name extension
- Comment — Enter additional information.
- +— Click this to configure another process.
- To import processes from the .csv file:
- From the Add Process drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of processes. Select the file and click Open. The processes in the .csv file are added to the list.
- To export process names to a .csv file:
- From the Add Process drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured processes to the .csv file.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.

Redirect traffic sent to configured domains to alternate proxy
You can add, edit, remove and view domain names in the redirection list. The Client Proxy software redirects traffic sent to configured domains to the alternate server. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the configured domain names.
- In Skyhigh CASB, click the Settings icon.
- Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
- In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
- Select a policy from the policy tree.
- Click the List Redirection tab.
- Select Send traffic for these domains to the alternate proxy server to open Domain to send to alternate proxy.
- From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Add Inline.
- Domain — Enter the domain name.
- Comment — Enter additional information.
- + — Click this to configure another domain name.
- To import domain names from the .csv file:
- From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of domain names. Select the file and click Open. The domain names in the .csv file are added to the list.
- To export domain names to a .csv file:
- From the Add Domain drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured domain list to the .csv file.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.

Redirect traffic sent to configured IP addresses to alternate proxy
You can add, edit, remove, and view IP addresses in the redirection list. The Client Proxy software redirects traffic sent to configured IP addresses to the alternate server. You can use the import and export option to upload and download the IP address list.
- In Skyhigh CASB, click the Settings icon.
- Select Infrastructure | Client Proxy Management.
- In the policy tree, select Configuration Policies.
- Select a policy from the policy tree.
- Click the List Redirection tab.
- Select Send traffic for these IP Addresses to the alternate proxy server to open IP Address to send to alternate proxy.
- From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Add Inline.
- IP Address — Enter the IP address.
- Comment — Enter additional information.
- + — Click this to add another IP address.
- To import IP address from the .csv file:
- From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Import CSV. Navigate to the folder containing the list of IP addresses. Select the file and click Open. The IP addresses in the .csv file are added to the list.
- To export IP address list to a .csv file:
- From the Add IP Address drop-down list, select Export CSV. Downloads the configured IP addresses to the .csv file.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
