Block Uploads and Downloads of Media Types

Block uploads or downloads of media types based on lists that you configure by adding categories from the media type catalog.

1. In Skyhigh CASB, select Policy > Web Policy > Policy.
2. In the policy tree, select Media Type > Media Type.
3. Optionally configure criteria to limit the scope of this rule set.
4. Select the rules that block uploads of some media types. When selected, the rules:
   • Block Uploads for these Media Types — Blocks uploads of media types in this list.
   • Block transaction if Media Type cannot be determined — Blocks uploads of media types that are not known.
   • Block archives if the handler cannot open them — Blocks uploads of archives that cannot be opened by the archive handler.
5. Select the rules that block downloads of some media types. When selected, the rules:
   • Block Downloads for these Media Types — Blocks downloads of media types in this list.
   • Block transaction if Media Type cannot be determined — Blocks downloads of media types that are not known.
   • Block archives if the handler cannot open them — Blocks downloads of archives that cannot be opened by the archive handler.
6. Configure the lists associated with the rules as needed.

Changes to the policy tree, rule sets, or rules are automatically saved. You can publish them to the cloud now or keep working and publish later.
