Upgrade SWG with GAM v8000 Engine

IMPORTANT: Skyhigh recommends not performing these steps during business hours, as restarting the proxy service causes service interruption.

This topic helps you upgrade the GAM v8000 engine on SWG using a custom update parameter.

Follow these steps to enable and load the latest GAM v8000 engine on SWG:

In the SWG UI, go to Configuration > Appliances > Central Management Configuration > Advanced Update Settings.
Add the custom parameter ud-gam8000
This parameter forces SWG to download the latest GAM v8000 engine.
Manually trigger an engine update from the UI.
After the update completes, verify that the GAM version is 8000.5207 or later on the dashboard.
Log in to the SWG via SSH and run the service mwg restart command.
This action loads the updated GAM engine and restarts the GAM server, refreshing the Anti-Malware stack and enabling the full feature set.
