Overview
| Limited Availability: Upgrade to SWG 13.0 for enhanced stability and security. Contact Skyhigh Support for assistance. |
Skyhigh is migrating its Secure Web Gateway software for on-premises users from MLOS to SLOS version 1.6 with AlmaLinux 9.6 as the base OS, enhancing stability and security.
SWG 13.0 utilizes UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) mode, an advanced software that replaces traditional BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) firmware, for enhanced performance and security. UEFI enables faster and more secure booting, supports modern hardware such as NVMe drives, and provides enhanced recovery options. This firmware initiates upon computer (physical or virtual) startup, before operating system loading, to initialize hardware components, perform a power-on self-test (POST), and then transfer control to the operating system's bootloader.
The key aspects involved in migrating from SWG 12.x or earlier to SWG 13.0 include understanding the procedure to Install SWG 13.0 on VMware, Install SWG 13.0 on Hyper-V, Install SWG 13.0 on E Model, Install SWG 13.0 on F Model, directions to Troubleshoot RAID failure, the process of Backing Up and Restoring Data from SWG 12.x or earlier onto a SWG 13.0 appliance, changes in Network Management, and Supported SSL Versions. Refer to the System Requirements for Installing Secure Web Gateway before proceeding with the installation.
NOTE: The current release of SWG 13.0 is available on a new installation only. To apply configurations and policies from the existing SWG 12.x or earlier, refer to the Back Up and Restore Data section.
