Add or Remove Network Module to the SWG 5000-F/5500-F Appliance
NOTE: A static band is recommended before performing any hardware-related work on the Secure Web Gateway (SWG) appliance. Moreover, reach out to Skyhigh Support for any hardware/warranty-related queries.

Network Interface Module (PCIE)
Remove the Add-On Network Module
- Turn off the appliance and detach the power cables.
- Detach the network cables from the Network Interface Card (NIC) ports module.
- Remove the tamper-proof label.
- Remove the system top cover.
- Locate the interface module installed in Riser 1.
Chassis rear I/O ports
- Pull the riser module out of the chassis using the pull tabs:

- Flip-open the small plastic lever to unsecure the network card from the riser backplate.
- Remove the network 4 port card from the riser slot.
Install the Add-On Network Module
- Locate the replacement Network Adapter.
- Insert the network card into the rise slot while aligning the network adapter backplate with the open slot in the bracket.
- Flip the small plastic lever to secure the network card backplate.
Two guide pins are present on the rear of the riser bracket and one guide pin is on the motherboard:
- Insert the riser card module into the motherboard expansion slot while aligning the riser card bracket with the rear of the chassis and the guiding pins.
- Push down the riser handle and the pull tab to secure the riser module into the chassis:
- Install the top cover.
- Plug the cables into the Network Adapter X550-T2 ports.
- Test the system functionality.
- Install the tamper label.
OCP Network Module
Remove the Backplane Module

Loosen the thumb screw on the right side of the Open Compute Project (OCP) module:

Pull out the OCP module using the lever on the left side:

Remove the OCP module from the chassis:
Install the Backplane Module
- Locate the replacement OCP Module.
- Align the OCP module with the open OCP bay slot and push forward until the connectors make secure contact:

Tighten the thumb screw on the right side of the OCP module:

Test the system functionality.
System Functionality Test
To test the system functionality:
- Power up the system.
- Use appliance management to check the system health.
- Log on to the Secure Web Gateway User Interface (UI) using your credentials.
The Secure Web Gateway UI allows appliance troubleshooting and log collection:
