About Installing Secure Web Gateway in AWS
You can install Secure Web Gateway in an explicit proxy mode as an instance in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and run it there to ensure web security for your network.
IMPORTANT: AWS deployments in the China regions are no longer supported. Skyhigh strongly discourages the use or deployment of any AMI's related to Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway in these regions. Additionally, Secure Web Gateway on AWS supports explicit proxy and proxy HA modes (not transparent) and omits web caching to reduce hard-disk space requirements.
- Choose an Amazon instance type based on the amount of web traffic that will pass through Web Gateway according to your planning.
- Create or import a pair of SSH keys, which are required for authentication when you access an instance of Web Gateway within AWS.
- Install an instance of Web Gateway within AWS.
- Connect to the Web Gateway instance using an AWS web console.
After connecting to Web Gateway, you can log on to its interface and work with its features within the AWS environment.
