Skyhigh Security

Key Features

The Skyhigh Client features an advanced policy engine enabling flexible and granular policies, and a web-like policy builder to create tailor-made policies for precise traffic selection and redirection. It also comes with a brand new Client UI with enhanced visibility for the end-users.

The key features include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Multiple Gateways

  • Define Granular and Flexible Policies

The Skyhigh Client management UI enables admins to create various customized policies for different categories of users. For instance, an admin creates distinct policies for the HR Department, Finance, and Engineering. This can be achieved by cloning existing policies and making necessary adjustments rather than creating them from scratch.

NOTE: The Skyhigh Client is compatible with the existing Skyhigh Client Proxy policy. However, Skyhigh recommends migrating to the Skyhigh Client policy for enhanced traffic management.

  • Utilize New Management UI for Client Policy Definition

The new Management UI is a modernized web-based interface that enables admins to intuitively define policies, create profiles, and define gateways enforced by the Client software (for example, Skyhigh Client) on endpoint devices.

  • Customizable Client Profiles

The Skyhigh Client management UI enables admins to create multiple Client profiles, categorize as needed, without any limitations on the total number of profiles. Each Client policy is mapped to a single Client Profile and can be updated as required for effective policy implementation.

  • Enhanced Visibility in the new Client UI

At the endpoint, the Skyhigh Client features an enhanced and redesigned user interface for improved visibility and troubleshooting. The endpoint UI application employs a left-hand panel that provides access to key tabs such as Home, Client Overview, Connectivity, Log Capture, and Disable Client, while the right-hand panel displays detailed information. This allows users to monitor the real-time connectivity and traffic redirection status to on-prem or Cloud-based policy enforcement gateways (Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway, Private Access, Cloud Firewall).

The following tabs are present in the Client UI at the endpoint.

► Home

The Home tab provides a high-level status summary displaying both statuses and sub-statuses for the following services:

  • Skyhigh Client. Installed on endpoints (laptops), with statuses indicating whether the user's device is successfully connected to the security platform, policy enforcement is active, and if the client itself is healthy.
  • Secure Web Gateway. Responsible for inspecting, filtering, and controlling web traffic. Its status reflects the health of web filtering, anti-malware scanning, URL categorization, and policy enforcement for internet-bound traffic.
  • Private Access. Implements Zero Trust Network Access, providing secure, least-privilege access to private applications without requiring a traditional VPN. Its status shows if the secure tunnels and access controls are operational.
  • Cloud Firewall. This service typically provides network security controls for cloud environments, managing traffic flow, and enforcing policies at the network layer. Its status reflects the health and effectiveness of network-level security rules.

   Status Types:

  • Secure. Indicates that a safe and successful connection is established.
  • Warning. Indicates a minor issue that needs attention but doesn't affect the service.
  • Error. Indicates a critical problem where the service is not working.
  • Disabled. Indicates that the service is turned off and is not running.

Each sub-status provides additional insight into the specific condition or behaviour of the associated service.
