URL Categorization Service FAQs

How can I verify that my appliances have successfully transitioned from the McAfee URL database to the Trellix/Skyhigh Security URL database? 

For SWG On-Prem, You can verify that your appliances have successfully transitioned from the McAfee URL database to the Trellix/Skyhigh Security URL database by checking the version number of your URL update file. Version 123702 and newer are from Trellix, Version 123701 and older are still from McAfee. Refer to article to manually perform an engine update.

For Cloud customers, no action required to verify as Skyhigh Security has completed the verification. 

Why is Skyhigh Security and Trellix migrating URL categorization service?

As part of divestiture from McAfee, Skyhigh Security and Trellix URL categorization services and processes will start moving on 15-Feb-2024 from McAfee to Skyhigh Security and Trellix and will be completed on 20-Feb-2024. Starting from 15-Feb-2024, Trellix and Skyhigh Security customers should start using  https://trustedsource.org for URL ticketing submissions.

  • Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway Appliances (SWG for On-Prem)

  • Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway for Cloud (SWG for Cloud)

  • Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) Web Control

  • Trellix Intrusion Prevention System

  • Trellix Intelligent Sandbox

  • Trellix Security for Microsoft Exchange

What will happen between 15-Feb-2024 and 20-Feb-2024?

Starting 15-Feb-2024 at 08:30 GMT the URL ticketing submissions for Skyhigh Security and Trellix customers will move to https://trustedsource.org .

The remaining categorization systems and processes will move to Skyhigh Security and Trellix on 20-Feb-2024.

Are there any changes that Skyhigh Security and Trellix customers need to perform on their appliances/services before or after the go-live date?

Will my Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway products update automatically? 

The systems that your products contact are NOT changing. Only the backend processes of those servers are changing.

Will I see new version numbers of the database on my Secure Web Gateway appliances? Will that be an incremental update or full update?

After the cut-over incremental updates to the database on the appliances will continue as normal.

Will there be any impact to service before or during or after the migration?

URL categorization service will remain fully operational before, during and after migration. No service impact is expected. 

Will there be any expected improvements with this migration?

With this change, Skyhigh Security and Trellix will continue to maintain quality, service availability and further improve SLA times for re-categorization/rating requests.

Will there be any changes to the URL ticketing system?

Starting from 15-Feb-2024, the URL ticketing system that Skyhigh Security and Trellix customers will transition from https://sitelookup.mcafee.com to https://trustedsource.org 

The email submissions will also move from sites@mcafee.com to sites@trellix.com

Do I need new credentials to login to the new URL system?

You can continue using existing credentials. All your ticket history will also be migrated to TrustedSource.org

When should Skyhigh Security and Trellix customers begin submitting their tickets to Trellix?

Skyhigh Security and Trellix customers should start using the following URLs on 15-Feb-2024: 

What will happen to my tickets in sitelookup.mcafee.com that will still be open on the go-live-date? 

All open tickets submitted to McAfee prior to 15-Feb-2024 will be completed prior to 20-Feb-2024.

Should I enter a ticket at trustedsource.org before 15-Feb-2024?

Tickets should not be submitted on trustedsource.org before 15-Feb-2024. 

What will happen if I enter a ticket on sitelookup.mcafee.com after 15-Feb-2024?

Any submissions to McAfee after 15-Feb-2024 date will be handled by McAfee. Trellix will have no knowledge of these submissions. The result of your feedback will not be available to your Skyhigh and Trellix products. Please ensure to only submit to trustedsource.org from 15-Feb-2024 onwards.
