Skyhigh Client App for Android Devices

This topic guides end users through the installation, deployment, and troubleshooting of the Skyhigh Client app for Android, as well as the device-specific limitations.

Deploy Skyhigh Client 

NOTE: Make sure you have the Skyhigh Client app available on your devices. 

  1. Download and install Skyhigh Client from the Google Play Store.
  2. Read the disclaimer and select I agree to use data as specified in Terms.
  3. Click Proceed.
  4. Do the following when the .OPG file is not pushed using MDM:  
    1. Click Browse & Upload to upload the .OPG file you have received from the Administrator. 
    2. Click Allow.
    3. Search for the .OPG file and select to complete the upload process. 

NOTE: End users who use MDM to push policies will not see this screen, as the policy is applied via the MDM profile. MDM users can skip steps 1-6 and proceed to step 7 for deployment. 

Once the policy file is processed, the Skyhigh Client app prompts you to create the VPN profile.

  1. Click Create VPN Profile
  2. Click Allow.
  3. Select an email account to use with Skyhigh Client app and click OK.

  1. Click Get Started.

    Prompts you to enter SAML login credentials. If the SAML authentication is not configured, it will redirect to the applications page. 
     
  2. Enter corporate username and password.

    After successful authentication, you can use the Skyhigh Client or enter the full URL of the application in an external browser to access the private application. 

NOTE: Ensure you have appropriate client applications to access applications using the RDP and SSH protocols. 

View Skyhigh Client App

  • Settings - Tap this tab to view the following:
    • Debug logs - You can enable this option to collect logs up to 30 MB. These logs are useful for troubleshooting issues. Log deletion is based on the oldest file to the newest. When allocated disk space fills up, it deletes the oldest logs up to 15 MB. 
    • Export logs - You can use this option to export(download logs) and share the log information with the Skyhigh Support team. 
    • Help - You can use this option to contact Skyhigh Security Support if you need any assistance.
    • Privacy Policy - You can use this option to check Skyhigh Security private policy details.
    • Factory Reset - You can use this option to clear all the app settings and reinstall the app. 
  • Key icon - This icon is displayed on the status bar to indicate that the Skyhigh Client is running.
  • Status - Tap this tab to check the status of the private applications. The green color indicates that the Private Applications and Internet Applications are accessible through the Skyhigh Client.

Troubleshoot Skyhigh Client App 

Restart the device and relaunch the app. In case any error persists, perform the following actions and share the logs with the Skyhigh Support team. 

  1. Go to Settings and enable Debug Logs.
  2. Try to reproduce the error/behavior.
  3. Go to Settings and tap Export Logs, and share the log information. 
  4. Disable Debug Logs.

Android Device Limitations

The HTTPS inspection is supported for private applications only if:

  • The customer CA is installed and trusted by the Android device.
  • The customer CA is accepted by the installed applications.
