About API Keys
API keys are unique, randomly generated strings that primarily enable secure authentication and authorization. A platform administrator can create, edit, clone, and delete API keys. Additionally, the administrator can enforce role-based access control, set expiry dates to policies, export content, and data security, access governance, and application integration.
Key Benefits
- Secure Authentication and Enhanced Security. Restrict API access to authorized users and applications through key-based authentication.
- Role-Based Access Control. Assign roles and permissions at the key level to enable granular access control.
- Application Integration and Automation. Seamless third-party integrations can be automated with different software systems, applications, and platforms.
